Several years ago I ha the opportunity to shoot at a beautiful location. That is one of the cool things about being a photographer, we get to see and experience locations beauty that are new to us. Horse Show Photos Again
In 2021 everything was re-opening and equine events were back on. Or at least that was the plan but mother nature had her own plans and after the first three successful events, weather cancellations ensued.

I love horse show time of year. I get to go spend hours in the sunlight, looking and petting pretty ponies, hanging out with horse friends and taking some awesome equine action shots. Basically the moments I dream about when I am stuck in the office doing edits. bookings, invoicing, contracts, etc.
This year with everything reopening I have been getting a lot of dates and show bills sent to me with request which is awesome. So like a rational and sane person I went and tore my meniscus (I think— still waiting for it to be medically verified). Anyways things that we don’t get being self-employed is the time to take time off from busy season not when a year prior was cancelled.

As the weather warms, and the days get longer we enter into equine show season. For me show season started May 15th with a benefit show to raise funds to help a barrel racer diagnosed with cancer.

…..In fact those random events have been horse shows and I am deeply thankful for the participants and their continued support. In a deep state of hopelessness a few months ago I was ready to close the business, locked down this full time position and become normal like my family has prayed since I was born probably. But after attending and shooting a few equine events I was blown away by their support which stabilized my business to the point I can survive the losses of this year…..
