6th favorite image of 2024 is an image I made with my iPhone. In a rare event as an Ohioan I was able to see the Northern Lights and make a few pretty images. For me while this image displays the colors of the Northern Lights and is a good, pretty image it doesn’t have the wowing landscape to really make it a standout— this is more because of where I was located and the fact I didn’t believe we’d ever see the Northern Lights in Ohio.

Terms Every Photographer Should Know
Like all careers, jobs, and professions there are just intrinsic things you should know. Terminology that will allow you not only to grow in the field but converse with others in the field as well.
Language is a huge part of life and not knowing important terms can make you appear green, inept, and sometimes even unprofessional. Now I am not saying you need to know every little thing, every obscure term but common knowledge items are absolutely a must.

Last year five minutes from my house a local farm grew an area or so of sunflowers that they opened to the public. My sister, niece and I went out to cut a few boutiques and take pictures for a fun fall afternoon. Also to fulfill a photography dream shoot.

Sometimes I forget everywhere I have shared my images and find out later that they are performing well. I got an email month or so back about an image I created of my sister last fall that was nominated to move on in a online contest.
I call the image Among the Sunflowers and I have entered it in the International Photography Competition so hearing it is a nominee in the color chronicles contest gives me great hope for its future in the IPA competition.
