Last year five minutes from my house a local farm grew an area or so of sunflowers that they opened to the public. My sister, niece and I went out to cut a few boutiques and take pictures for a fun fall afternoon. Also to fulfill a photography dream shoot.

Sometimes I forget everywhere I have shared my images and find out later that they are performing well. I got an email month or so back about an image I created of my sister last fall that was nominated to move on in a online contest.
I call the image Among the Sunflowers and I have entered it in the International Photography Competition so hearing it is a nominee in the color chronicles contest gives me great hope for its future in the IPA competition.

It is funny to me as a photographer and traveler that while I have visited Seattle and even Photographed the Space Needle that was a block from my hotel room, I have never actually been closure to it than that.
I took my iconic image and packed in as much site seeing as I could and while I wanted to go up the Needle I never quite found the time.
