It is not surprise that the horse show year as gotten a late start. The weather pretty much said sit down, shut up, and delay, delay, delay. With lots of rain here in the midwest and storms that brought multiple tornados, flooding, and mudslides there was no good time to till the arenas and ready the ponies to ride.
May brought slightly better weather but not good enough to dry up outdoor areanas. And yet we were able to sneak in a show as a local indoor arena reopened its doors the second week of May. It allowed me to get out and hang with horse people and pick up a camera after a brief hiatus.
The photos turned out much better than anticipated after such a long break from shooting indoors and they seem to have made a great impact with the riders present that day!
