Testing New Equipment

As photographers equipment is important. Our gear determines what we are able to shoot and can aid us in doing it well. Gear isn’t the end all be all. You can take amazing images with very limited gear, after all gear is merely a tool.

However the better tools you have the easier it is to do your job. For years I have been shooting with a Tamron Auto Focus 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD IF Macro Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras (Model A001E). While they identify it in the description as a Macro lens I have found it performs as a regular telephoto and was suitable for sports. This is a great affordable option for those who can not afford the more expensive brand lens purchase.

However after years I have finally decided to upgrade to the Canon. The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM Lens to be specific, my hopes are the produce even better professional sports images moving forward.

The lens arrived last week and I was able to get a few test shots in. Portraits and stills nothing too crazy. The real test will be on the 15th of the month.

Check out my test shots below.
