It was my hope when my sister informed me she was pregnant that I was getting a little model to photograph all the time but move to my niece turning two and she would see my camera and break into tears. From two on she was not a cooperative model and those dreams of mine were crushed.
It has only taken six years for her to let me use the big camera to photograph her. Finally this past October she let me take a bunch of portraits so that we could gift one as a canvas to her grandmother. In addition to the portraits I tried to make the shoot fun for her by have a cool, fun idea to shoot. This time it was filling an umbrella with leafs and her lifting it to dump on her head.
She absolutely loved this portion of the shoot and we did at least a dozen takes. See some of my favorite photos below.
