Photographing Liberty

It isn’t often that I get the opportunity in the equine photography business to photograph a Liberty performer. At the 2nd Annual Pass the Torch Leadership Camp we had the pleasure to bring in Karla June Switzer who helped teach the kids and performed in the rain during the final show on Sunday June 28th.

It was great to get to photograph her even though the conditions were not ideal— we are talking an insane downpour, cowering under an easy up while still getting drenched trying to protect the camera and camera equipment.

Still I hope to photograph her again in the future! Enjoy a few raining show shots below.

Rain made it incredibly difficult to shoot, the downpour was strong enough rain drops were more in focus than the performer and her equestrian companions. I do hope if and when I get a chance to work with Karla in the future the weather is a tad more cooperative!
