Back in November I had the opportunity to photograph a Ranch Rodeo at Grizzle Ridge Arena. It was my first time seeing a Ranch Rodeo that kicked off with performances from drill teams, mounted shooters, trick riders, and some crowd participation events like stick horse barrel racing.
I am no stranger to those events. In fact for nearly 10 years photographing trick riders was my daily routine, then I started adding drill teams, and had just a taste of mounted shooting photographing a former national champion. So the performance section of the Rodeo was old hat to me yet I got some great images.
