As time moves forward I have found who I am as a photographer changes. When I first picked up a camera it was for fun and for art class, it quickly evolved into passion and chasing a new dream. A dream that became more expansive as the years went on, and as I reach goals I set new ones cropped up.
The latest step in my journey surpasses anything I had initially planned. This coming summer I will be doing two speaking engagements on my journey in photography and art with my counties district library at a few of their branches. They approached me in January asking if I would be interested and I will not lie, my inner introvert panicked.
I didn’t let me inner introvert rule me however as this is not the first time I have been approached to discuss my life as a photographer, so much so I wrote a memoir for that very reason. I have been to my high school alma mater to speak with students specifically interested in art careers, and I have done more than my fair share of one on one chats about the life of a photographer.
This lead me to say yes to speaking at the library.
So information has been sent, dates and times have been marked off. My brain has started conjuring words to fill the time slot — honestly wish me luck because half my brain is just like Hi, I am a photographer, I take photos. Hopefully by June my brain conjures much more interesting words!
Stay tuned for updates, flyers, times and locations!
