In the last few years one of my good friends has taken a position as a reporter with her hometown newspaper and invited me to a lot of fun events to take photos which has brought me back to the media world.
When I graduated college, I left with a job as a news reporter for the Times Leader and while I learned a lot in the time I was with them the low pay of the industry pushed me to move on. However you never forget skills you learn as a reporter going into new areas and conversing with people you have never meant before. Or seeing something happening and knowing it is news worthy.
Cycle back to 2024 and my friend approached me and asked if I would be willing to do a column on photography. Which to be honest had I not had this blog would have seemed daunting— coming up with topics is so very hard but I have been blogging for 8 years so I have content and topics on tap now! So I said yes and low and behold the Photography Column was born.
Today marks the first printing and first column in the Harrison New Herald. Check it out online with their e-edition.
