For my final entry into the Paris Photography competition aka PX3, I went with the Ranch Rodeo image that has been living rent free in my head since I made it.
Let me put it into context for you. I took nearly 3500 images at the Ranch rodeo, a lot of them were chaotic and blurry of cut off because a horse or person or both walked into the frame blocking the image I was after. Rodeo is chaotic so that is nothing new. But even culling down to less than 1000 images it is hard for there to be stand out images yet this image is what pops into my head when I think of this event. Of the 1000s it had the staying power.
It is an image taken during the doctoring portion of the rodeo where an older cowboy was wrestling a steer to the ground. I adore this image and hope it performs well because I struggled with the category it should be placed in. Ultimately I went for Portrait: Cultural. Wish me luck!
