Working With Tiffany of Exposure One Studios

I have been a working photographer for many, many years. I have honed my style even when there are days I want to play with different styles I always fall back to documentary. I am a portrait photographer, equine photographer, and low light action photographer. I live and breath for shooting as naturally as possible so why book with me? What makes me different?

Here’s the thing, I am introverted and sometimes have to turn on my deeply hidden and basically non-existent extrovert side when I am working as a photographer. The problem is I slip right back to quiet observer without much thought. Which means I may on occasion count you into images or pose you because that is the expectation but sooner than later I will just be shooting while you do anything.

Why?

Honestly, posed photography isn’t my favorite. I also see a lot of moments happen naturally that wouldn’t read the same way if I asked you to do it. Most people when directed freeze in that position, their smiles are stiff and their eyes dead. But if you happen to glance at a friend and smile— boom natural, there’s a light that just doesn’t read in the posed and this is what I am an expert at seeing.

If I am working an event I am even less social and even more focused on making images. The problem is I also want to blend into the background while simultaneously being front and center to capture what I need too. This means I have a tendency to just let myself wherever I want to make an image, it means I will place myself in the way of those arranging events, or producing them. And I will ask permission and very bluntly ask where I can and can’t be.

For the most part I am a quiet observer even when I do portraits. Posing people isn’t my favorite and I will rarely if ever touch you to pose you. No I will mimic what I want of you or do some fun hand signals before I touch you. And if I physically touch you— it’s because you weren’t understanding direction or taking too long to get where I wanted you.

But the awesome part of working with me— I will let you move, twirl, jump, and have fun. I am low light action photographer there is little I can’t do with a camera and movement. I can assure some awesome images. This trait made me a hit when I worked in a studio because I let the kids be kids and got some amazing moments. I let dancers dance, singers jam out, and speakers speak.

For as quiet as I am I love being a photographer. It is my art and I always promise to deliver the best possible images that reflect who you are or the event you are putting on. I may not direct the entire time or ever. But I will see beauty and I will capture it.

And the more you work with me the more you anticipate my style, my quietness and just be you. I have clients who we may never speak during sessions at least not about posing or photos. We will catch up, make plans, enjoy ourselves and that makes the sessions fly by but brings a real magic to the images.

My end goal is to make you comfortable and to make images you love. I may be quiet but I hope my passion for my work and my eye does the speaking for me.
