In 2019 I took a trip to Alaska and got to take some amazing images. While I love my images I took sometimes years later you want to play with them again. That is when keeping the RAW files males such a difference.
For the most part my style is pretty much set as a photographer I rarely deviate and still find myself thinking the same way even years later. As you will be able to see from my 2024 re-edit of the same rare image below compared to what I did in 2019.
In fact the differences come down to contrast, warms, and highlights and shadows.
This first image is the original RAW taken from the balcony of my cabin on the cruise ship I called home for a week. As you can see RAW images are the most vibrant and wowing but they do capture all the details and enable you to edit to make them what you are wanting.
2019 vs 2024 edits are above side by side. Somehow my brain still makes the crops very similar however lately I have been feeling darker tones with less cool vibes. Thus warming the image up brings out some hidden magentas and creates the color palate of the 2024 edit.
Anyways this was just for fun, but a cool way to see how my images could have worked had they been taken this year.
Which is your favorite?
