Not every rodeo you will attend will have the same number of events. There are full rodeos which can have everything from:
Bull Riding
Bareback Bronc
Saddleback Bronc
Mutton Busting
Novice bulls
Calf Roping
Team Roping
Breakaway Roping
Steer Wrestling
Clown Acts
Specialty Acts
Barrel Racing
Chuckwagon Racing
Chute Dogging
Whip Cracking
And so much more!
And then of course there are specialty rodeos that will have less events. Such as Bulls and Barrels which focuses on two of the most popular events of rodeo.
Knowing the events, what to expect, how the animals will move, what the cowboys or girls will do while competing will give your photographs a leg up. I call this predictive shooting because if you can predict the action you can plan your shot in advanced!
Now I will caution; rodeo deals with live people and animals and that adds an unpredictability to the equation so you will never always know what is going to happen. It keeps it lively and fun as well as will challenge your skills as a photographer but that basic knowledge of the event really will bring about beautiful images.
