It has taken me years and many different photography subjects to discover my niche was in the equine industry. Why it took me so long I cannot say as I have always loved horses and been involved in that world. It almost should have been obvious.
I grew up on a farm and as a young girl was given what every little girl dreams of… a pony. That started my life long love of horses. It wouldn’t be until I was older that I would grow to love the equestrian community which I became accustom to through showing.
It wouldn’t be until after my leg was broken in a show that I would step away from being an active horse show competitor and rider and move into the arts. Because art was a second love and being an artist was something I started working toward from the time I was eight years old. I practiced fine art and drawing for 11 years before picking up a camera and starting a new focus.
It has been 13 years since I took up the camera, I started with senior pictures of classmates, and taking pictures of my sister with her horse and at her shows. I have had a very lucky career. I have accomplished every goal I have ever created for myself.
I found myself.
