Ever wonder what a decade of practice looks like? In photography we can see the changes in our work, the growth of our skills and abilities. Recently I got to do some side by side comparison of my photographic skills.

In 2011 while a college freshman I went to the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium where I took photos though not great photos by any means. Zoo Photography is not an easy medium, you have a lot of people, highly reflective surfaces with scuff marks and more, not to mention the animals who can be in difficult to photograph spots.

Over the years my skills have improved in zoo photography but I thought it was fun to see those changes in real time from the same zoo— Pittsburgh— which I revisited in 2023.
