Encouraging My Inner Nerd
So what many of you may not know about me beyond my love of photography and creative arts is that I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I grew up on the books, besides being obsessive attending midnight book releases, and movie releases. As an adult I am a collector of Harry Potter— well everything really.
When I traveled to London in 2012 I visited the Warner Brothers Studio Tour, had Butterbeer, saw the castle, stood in the GREAT HALL, and secretly wept with joy the entire time. Ok I was also that nerd who was humming the Hedwig Theme while walking about London visiting iconic places seen in the films, Kings Cross Station but well this is my fandom.
I have picture proof.
Guys this tour was the highlight of London for me. I wish I could say the Tower of London or even London Eye and Big Ben were because those are iconic but HP Nerd me was there for HP alone. I was even there during the paralympics and meant some of the US team— happen stance we just happened to be walking on the same sidewalk at one point which was also amazing and so cool.
So I feel you are all now aware of my hidden nerd. My deep profound love of Harry Potter and J.K.’s genius and creating a world I love so much. Well my family has been on the in for a long time and my aunt totally smashed Christmas 2019 with a Golden Levitating Snitch. I have done photoshoots and made a video— yes my nerdiness has no bounds.
Sometimes having a little pow wow with your inner nerd and playing with your photography passion. I played around with a pin light, my cell phone and the launch pad of the golden snitch. Have fun and enjoy yourself.
PS. If the photos from the tour seem blurry or less than pro level— I was still learning and I was literally shaking from excitement. Like that tour was a dream come true. That tour was London for me.
