It has been a great horse show year and in large part that is due to the re-opening of Grizzle Ridge Arena in Jerusalem, Ohio. Back in May when they put together their first show and was looking for a photographer at the last minute I wasn’t sure what was going to happen with this arena.

It has been around for many, many years with several different owners however it’s a lot to maintain and hosting shows is a long and exhausting thing. So if a show a year happened there it was a great thing, but that made it hard to weigh expectations for the new owners.

It has been a great year because the new owners have a drive to make this arena reach its potential. While not jam packed with events yet I can see a future where every weekend is booked be it for barrels and poles, mounted shooting, reigning, ranch classes, roping, and so so many more equine events.

I have been especially blessed to be invited to come photograph the events, hang with horse people and do something I absolutely love. I attended the Bonfire Barrel and Pole show in mid-September, unfortunately I had prior bookings for their second cattle sort of the year, but I do love the images from the Bonfire show.
