Adding New Designs to Redbubble
With the new year comes the new to start making some new designs. Not designs for clients, or my business but for my passive income stream generated through print on demand sites like Redbubble.
As an artist sometimes you just want to create to create. However making something that will never be seen or used seems like a waste of time so the ability to sell it on print on demand sites as been a fun experience. I really do not market the work or account so when something sells its because someone found it generically and liked to enough to purchase.
It is a great feeling when you make a sale because someone liked your work enough that they wanted a cell phone case or tee shirt. I have a lot of fun designing things for multiple uses or seeing how my photographs look on different types of merchandise. For me part of the challenge is seeing which of my works are the best received.
I absolutely love that some of my old rodeo photographs are finding new life as cell phone cases and posters. So many years were spent chasing rodeos and so many images were never used that I love that those are some of the more popular offering on my site. And I love that designs I did with dart boards that were originally for my aunt are so popular they are finding their way into so many things for fans in Europe where most the sales originate from.
That’s the coolest part to me, is seeing where the sales come from and knowing that my work spoke to someone in another state or country. I was a world traveler in 2012 and loved my time exploring and meeting new people that this feels like another small way to connect to them through something I love.
Check out the new additions to my Redbubble account below! And if there is something you would love to see as a photo or design let me know in the comments.
