My 3rd favorite image of 2024 is of baby Lumi the day he was born. The beauty and grace of foals is so aww inspiring and I have been very blessed and lucky to be there with a camera for my sister when she got to meet each of her mares babies.

You never know what the lighting will be like, the babies, or how the mare will react to people. How early or late the baby will come and just how well you will do as a photographer. I was excited and didn’t grab the right lenses to shoot in a low lit barn yet I got some of the best and cutest images of this sweet, sweet baby colt.
